Infocomtech brings broadband to the masses

Singapore, 5 August 2002 - Infocomtech expects to significantly increase its 65,000 high-speed broadband internet subscriber base with the launch of new Infocomtech Net Cable plans.

Martin Dalgleish, Managing Director for Infocomtech Consumer and Multimedia said the plans feature an affordable start-up plan for first time users, flat monthly fees and no per megabyte charges.

"Consumers can now enjoy the speed, reliability and 'the always on' benefits of broadband for about the same price as a dial-up connection including the second line and call charges. We now offer the best value for first time broadband users."

Dalgleish says Infocomtech has removed the risks of broadband by removing penalty rates. "What sets Infocomtech apart from competitors is that customers are not financially penalized for exceeding their monthly download limits.

"With the new plans, we are pioneering the use of speed limiting.

"Once users reach their limit, the speed of their service is slowed. This means customers can stay connected for the entire month, continuing to access their email and surf the net, but at a slower speed and at no extra cost.

"While our competitors use penalty rates and usage caps on traffic, Infocomtech Net users know their monthly fee is fixed. With Infocomtech Net Cable there is no bill shock. Plus our customers enjoy the flexibility to move between plans each month until they find a plan that is right for them," Mr Dalgleish said.

Note prices quoted are available on Infocomtech Choices plans when you switch your phone line to Infocomtech Local (with a monthly rental from $20) and preselect Infocomtech Long Distance for 12 months. A one-off installation fee applies.
